2004 · A gift at a low point
It started with one old book
In 2004, at a low point in her life, Rhonda Byrne was handed a book by her daughter. It wasn't new. It was a book written in 1910 by an American named Wallace D. Wattles, and it carried a blunt, old-fashioned title: The Science of Getting Rich.
That book became the seed of The Secret. Released in 2006, The Secret went on to sell tens of millions of copies and introduced a generation to an old idea: that what we think shapes the lives we lead.
But the idea didn't begin there. The Secret draws on a circle of early twentieth-century "New Thought" writers, among them Wattles and Charles F. Haanel. Their books are still the clearest, most complete statement of it.
Most people who read The Secret never read the originals.
This edition brings you back to the source, in the authors' own words, printed whole.
